Whether you need an assessment, practical guidance or support with rehabilitation, a registered nurse tailors your appointment to your individual needs. You will have time to discuss your situation, receive a clear plan and, when necessary, a recommendation to see a doctor or undergo further tests.

how can i help?

Wound care and follow-up

Your appointment includes a wound assessment and treatment, followed by clear instructions for wound care at home. If needed, follow-up appointments can be arranged to monitor healing. Please bring any dressings or wound care products you already have at home or received from the hospital. If you have no supplies or are unsure what to bring, contact me before your appointment so I can prepare accordingly.

bone health and bindex scan

Your Bindex® scan is a quick, radiation-free ultrasound measurement taken from your shin bone. It measures cortical bone thickness and combines the result with your age, height and weight to calculate a Density Index, which estimates bone mineral density at the hip. You will receive your result and personalised guidance. If further assessment is needed, you may be advised to see a doctor or have a DXA scan.

Health assessement and advice

At your appointment, you will have time to talk about your symptoms, medical history and any previous test results or treatment instructions. Depending on your needs, the assessment may also include measurements or rapid tests. You will receive clear advice on self-care, monitoring your condition and what to do next. If further assessment is needed, you may be advised to see a doctor, have further tests or consult another healthcare professional.

exercise and rehabilitation

Your exercise programme will be tailored to your health, current abilities and goals. Guided Power Plate training and other exercises can support your rehabilitation after surgery, injury or a longer period of illness. Any instructions from your doctor or physiotherapist will be taken into account, and the programme will be adjusted according to how your body responds.

what to expect at your appointment?

  1. Reviewing your situation – You will have time to explain your symptoms, relevant medical history, goals and any previous treatment instructions.
  2. Assessment, testing and treatment – The service you booked will be carried out, and everything will be explained clearly.
  3. Next steps – You will receive instructions for self-care and follow-up and, if needed, advice to see a doctor or have further tests.

your nurse

Your appointment will be with me, Elina Salzwedel, a registered nurse and Woundexpert ICW®. My work combines nursing expertise, many years of experience in Power Plate training and practical, personalised guidance. My aim is for you to leave your appointment with a clear understanding of your situation and what to do next.

when to seek medical or emergency care?

Power Body Helsinki is not an emergency service, and an appointment with a registered nurse does not replace an examination by a doctor. If your condition is urgent but not life-threatening, contact your local health centre or call Medical Helpline 116117 before going to an emergency department. If you believe that your life or health is in immediate danger, call 112.
