Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition commonly associated with widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and stiffness. These symptoms can make exercise difficult, even though maintaining muscle strength and mobility is an important part of rehabilitation.
Power Plate makes it possible to begin with short, supported exercises. The vibration activates the muscles effectively without requiring large movements or heavy weights. Increased muscle activity enhances blood circulation and metabolism in the muscles being trained. Exercise is always adapted to the individual’s fitness level and current condition.
A systematic review and meta-analysis published in 2025 examined seven randomized controlled trials. Vibration training reduced the overall impact of fibromyalgia on daily life, improved balance, and increased the distance participants were able to walk in six minutes.
A study examining six weeks of training found that vibration training improved lower-body muscle strength, walking performance, sleep quality, quality of life, and overall fibromyalgia symptoms.
According to a broader systematic review, vibration training has also produced positive results in pain, physical function, quality of life, and balance.
Power Plate is well suited as part of an individually designed fibromyalgia rehabilitation programme. Training begins gently and is gradually increased as the body becomes stronger.
Power Plate training does not cure fibromyalgia or replace medical treatment or other rehabilitation. However, it can be used alongside them as individually tailored and carefully paced exercise to help relieve pain and support sleep, muscle strength, balance and functional ability.
